Private Guitar Lessons

Looking for more personalised support?

Develop confidence, overcome roadblocks, and make steady progress with guidance tailored to your goals.

I’ve been teaching guitar since 2014 and have helped hundreds of students become more confident and expressive musicians.

My teaching focuses primarily on expression, phrasing, improvisation, and developing your own musical voice, with a strong foundation in blues and rock guitar.

Lessons are taught online using a two-camera setup, allowing me to quickly switch between angles and zoom in when needed, so you can clearly see both hands, techniques, and exercises throughout the lesson.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed by endless information, or simply looking for a clearer path forward, lessons are designed around your goals and experience level.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes your teaching approach different?

My goal isn't to turn you into a copy of another guitarist. Instead, I focus on helping you develop confidence, creativity, and your own musical voice. While technique and theory are important, my teaching places a strong emphasis on expression, phrasing, and learning how to make music rather than simply play notes.

Do I need to be an advanced player?

Not at all. I work with players of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced guitarists looking to refine their playing.

What style of music do you teach?

My teaching is rooted in blues and rock guitar, but many of the concepts we explore, such as phrasing, expression, improvisation, and musicality, can be applied to almost any style of music.

How long is each lesson?

Lessons typically last around 50 minutes.

How do online lessons work?

Lessons take place via Zoom using a two-camera setup. This allows me to quickly switch between angles and zoom in when demonstrating techniques, exercises, and musical ideas.

What if I don't know what I need help with?

That's completely normal. Many students come to lessons feeling stuck or unsure what to focus on. Together we'll identify your goals and create a clear path forward.

Will I receive material after the lesson?

Yes. Depending on the lesson, you'll receive notes, exercises, recordings, or other resources to help you continue making progress between sessions.

How often should I take lessons?

This depends on your goals, schedule, and budget. Some students take lessons weekly, while others prefer bi-weekly or occasional sessions.

Can I book just one lesson?

Absolutely. Many students start with a single introductory lesson before deciding whether they'd like ongoing support.
